AmeriHealth Administrators is taking the following measures to help its members affected by severe storms and flooding in Texas.

For members impacted, AmeriHealth Administrators is revising some policies now through August 1, 2025.

Specific policy revisions include:

  • Waiving precertification, referral, and hospital admission requirements for medically necessary care for insured members.
  • Working closely with hospitals, doctors, and urgent care facilities to ensure members that may not have access to their usual physicians and facilities have access to emergent and urgent care services anywhere they need it.
  • Lifting prescription refill restrictions, such as the “refill too soon” limit, and allowing members who receive prescriptions via mail order to get prescriptions at a retail pharmacy.
  • Providing replacement of damaged or lost medical equipment or supplies for members.
  • Throughout this emergency situation, AmeriHealth Administrators members can call the number on the back of their ID card toll-free for assistance with questions about care, medication needs, and help with the stress and trauma they may be experiencing. This line is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. AmeriHealth Administrators employees can ensure that members have uninterrupted access to the health care services they need during this emergency situation and the aftermath.

Any group that wishes to opt out of the policy revisions above may do so by contacting its account representative.

AmeriHealth Administrators members can also access their personal health information and find and print replacement ID cards at amerhealthtpa.com.
