AmeriHealth Administrators is taking the following measures to help its members affected by wildfires in South Carolina.
For members impacted, AmeriHealth Administrators is revising some policies now through March 17, 2025.
Specific policy revisions include:
- Working closely with its groups to ask for their flexibility in waiving precertification, referral, and hospital admission requirements for medically necessary care.
- Working closely with hospitals, doctors, and urgent care facilities to ensure members who may not have access to their usual physicians and facilities have access to emergent and urgent care services anywhere they need it.
- Lifting prescription refill restrictions, such as the “refill too soon” limit, and allowing members who receive prescriptions via mail order to get prescriptions at a retail pharmacy.
- Providing replacement of medical equipment or supplies for plan members.
- Throughout this emergency situation, AmeriHealth Administrators members can call the number on the back of their ID card toll-free for assistance with questions about care, medication needs, and help with the stress and trauma they may be experiencing. This line is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. AmeriHealth Administrators employees can ensure that members have uninterrupted access to the health care services they need during this emergency situation and the aftermath.
Any group that wishes to opt out of the policy revisions above may do so by contacting its account representative.
AmeriHealth Administrators members can also access their personal health information and find and print replacement ID cards at amerhealthtpa.com.
